eVidyaloka ‘Volunteer Code of Conduct’

We express our deep gratitude for your commitment to supporting the education of rural India’s children.

At eVidyaloka, our code of conduct serves as the compass that guides both our organisational principles and the conduct we expect from our dedicated volunteers. We envision our volunteers as living reflections of our core values, embodying the commitment to excellence, inclusivity, and the transformative power of education in every interaction.

Transparency and Accountability

eVidyaloka is dedicated to transparent and accountable operations, and we expect the same from our volunteers within our Digital Classroom environment. Our aim is to ensure all volunteers interact with children in a responsible and ethical manner

Expectations of Conduct

All individuals associated with eVidyaloka—children, local centre coordinators, staff, and volunteers—should anticipate a consistent standard of conduct from our team that reflects our organisational values

Confidentiality

Volunteers must safeguard the privacy of all individuals within the eVidyaloka community, strictly adhering to our confidentiality policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.

Unauthorized sharing of private information is strictly prohibited without the explicit consent of the individual or authorization by eVidyaloka.

Non-Discrimination Equity

We insist on a culture of equity and inclusion, prohibiting discrimination or harassment on any grounds including caste, race, creed, colour, nationality, ethnicity, political or religious beliefs, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, marital or family status, socio-economic background, disability, or record of offences.

Substance-Free Service

Volunteers are required to abstain from performing duties while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Additionally, it is imperative to ensure that children are neither subjected to nor observe any advocacy for the use of these substances, including cigarettes.

Professional Conduct in Class

  • Volunteers should dress appropriately and be culturally sensitive.
  • Volunteers should avoid engaging in political discussions, illegal activities, or unauthorised gift-giving.
  • Respectful Relationships

While fostering friendly relations, Volunteers must maintain professional boundaries with staff, coordinators, and children.

    Accountability

Volunteers should agree to engage in regular, structured supervision to ensure accountability and to receive necessary feedback, guidance, and support.

    Training & Development

Ongoing education and skill enhancement are mandatory, which includes keeping abreast of updates, attending meetings, and participating in feedback loops for continuous improvement.

    Copyright

Respect for both local and international intellectual property rights is mandatory; this includes proper attribution and seeking permissions when using copyrighted materials
