eVidyaloka|March 2026

A moment of pride unfolded at GHS Utkela in Odisha as a student emerged as an NSIC finalist, an achievement that reflects not just success but a journey of growth, confidence, and perseverance. Behind this milestone lies a story of consistent effort, the right guidance, and a supportive learning environment that helped transform potential into achievement.

From Hesitation to Achievement

Sidharth

Siddharth Goutam Bag, a Class VII student, was once a quiet and hesitant learner who struggled with English and Mathematics. He often lacked the confidence to participate in classroom discussions and activities, holding himself back due to the fear of making mistakes. However, with continuous support from eVidyaloka’s online teachers and regular practice through the digital classrooms, Siddharth gradually began to overcome these challenges.

Over time, he developed a keen interest in his subjects and started actively engaging in learning. His confidence grew, enabling him to express his ideas clearly and participate in both academic and co-curricular activities. His selection as a finalist for the National Student Innovation Challenge reflects not just academic progress but also his personal growth and determination.

Guiding the Journey

Behind this transformation was the consistent support of Suchandra Sahoo, the Class Assistant at GHS Utkela. His active involvement and dedication played a key role in creating a disciplined and encouraging learning environment. By ensuring smooth coordination between students and volunteer teachers, he helped make every classroom session effective and engaging.

Suchandra also played an important role in guiding students during their NSIC project work. From helping them understand their chosen Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to supporting their research and critical thinking, he ensured that students gained meaningful learning experiences. He further encouraged them to develop communication skills by guiding them in writing formal letters to government authorities, giving them practical exposure to real-world engagement.

Together, the efforts of the student, the Class Assistant, and the support system provided by eVidyaloka have created a strong foundation for success. Siddharth’s journey from hesitation to achievement is a powerful reminder that with the right guidance, encouragement, and opportunities, every child has the potential to grow and succeed.
