Learning is a lifelong journey that builds skills and confidence while creating opportunities. Through the EmpowerEd program, eVidyaloka helps students develop basic digital literacy, especially focused for girls in government residential schools. For many students, these classes unlock a whole new world of learning. With volunteer-led sessions and hands-on practical classes, students explore digital platforms and gain valuable skills needed to thrive in a technology-driven world.

Dreams in Flight

Dipchikha Senga, a bright Grade 9 student, recognizes the importance of strong digital skills for a successful career. Aspiring to become a pilot, she knows these skills are essential for her future.

Dipchikha had never used a laptop before, but through the Digital Literacy classes, she got the opportunity to learn these skills firsthand. With guidance from volunteer teacher Anagha, she learned to create documents in MS Word, enter data in Excel, and design presentations in PowerPoint. This became a turning point for her, opening doors to learning she had never experienced before.

Now in Grade 9, Dipchikha is eager to dive into more advanced topics, such as Artificial Intelligence. With the support of volunteer teacher Yoga Mythri, she learned what AI is, how it can be applied, and its potential to solve real-world challenges. Using ChatGPT for the first time, she was amazed at how easily it provided her with a realistic roadmap to achieve her goal of becoming a pilot.

Confidence Unlocked

Beyond digital skills, Dipchikha has also benefited from eVidyaloka’s Spoken English classes. Earlier, she felt shy and hesitant to speak English, afraid of making mistakes. With the constant encouragement of volunteer teacher Nishant, Dipchikha has begun to overcome her fear. Today, she speaks more freely and takes pride in her growing fluency.

She also participated in the EDGE sessions, where she learned valuable lessons in leadership, facing challenges, and presenting herself confidently. These skills are equipping her not just for school, but for life ahead.

Education ignites dreams, and one day, these dreams will become the reality students live. Dipchikha says that her learning, once confined to the classroom, has grown tremendously through eVidyaloka. She is deeply thankful for these opportunities and hopes many more students like her can benefit from the program. With access to quality learning and opportunities, students can transform their aspirations into accomplishments and make a lasting impact.
