Steps Toward Success: eVidyaloka’s Impact on Students

eVidyaloka|January 2026

Online classes led by volunteer teachers are driving meaningful progress in rural schools across India. Through eVidyaloka’s digital classrooms, volunteer teachers from across locations transform the learning journey of children in government schools by dedicating just two hours per week. For students, these virtual sessions are not only an entry into an unfamiliar learning space but also moments that expand their thinking, boost their confidence, and help them step into their potential.

Jhilli’s journey to confidence

Jhilli Putel, a Grade 7 student from Odisha, comes from a humble family background. Her father works as a mechanic, and her mother is a homemaker. Initially, Jhilli struggled to grasp concepts in Math and English. Due to financial constraints, her parents were unable to afford tuition or coaching classes for her.

However, with the support of eVidyaloka’s online classes, she has shown remarkable improvement. The volunteer teacher, Ullas Pradhan, who teaches English, encouraged students to practice speaking freely, which helped Jhilli build confidence in communicating in English.

Jhilli’s academic performance has significantly improved in both Math and English with consistent mentorship. She feels deeply grateful to the volunteer teachers and class assistant for providing access to quality education and fostering a supportive environment, an experience that has made a positive difference in her life.

Survir’s literacy breakthrough

Survir Kumar, a Grade 6 student from Bihar, struggled with reading. Although he tried hard in class each day, letters and words seemed confusing, making learning both difficult and discouraging.

The dedicated support of the volunteer teacher, along with the ongoing guidance of the class assistant, began to change Survir’s situation. Over the past year, they worked patiently with him to help him recognize letters and develop his reading skills. Their consistent efforts and encouragement laid a strong foundation for his literacy skills.

Today, Survir confidently reads full sentences, including his homework assignments. His transformation reflects the impact of committed teaching and support, especially in remote schools, and shows how perseverance can truly change a student’s learning journey.

Steady support and encouragement help students make real progress in their learning. Each small achievement becomes a stepping stone for the next. As students gain confidence, they become more willing to take on challenges and explore new ideas. Over time, these successes build both knowledge and self-belief, opening doors to opportunities they once only imagined.
