A Simple Act, Lasting Impact: Guramma’s efforts

Every student can reach their full potential when guided by a strong support system that believes in them. Through eVidyaloka’s virtual classes, volunteer teachers from across the globe bring diverse perspectives and deliver quality instruction directly to students. While passionate volunteers lead these sessions, the smooth functioning of every class depends on the Class Assistants (CAs). Working quietly behind the scenes, they facilitate the timely coordination of sessions and maintain classroom discipline effectively. Driven by a strong commitment to the mission, CAs create an environment where students get the most out of each online class.

Going the extra mile

One such dedicated Class Assistant is Guramma, who works at a government school in Andhra Pradesh. She noticed that two grade 8 students were frequently absent from class, which began to affect their academic continuity and overall classroom participation. At first, monitoring their attendance and following up on missed sessions seemed sufficient. However, seeing little improvement, she visited their homes to speak with their parents directly. During these conversations, she gently emphasized the importance of consistent attendance for both academic growth and personal development. Her approach was caring, patient, and encouraging rather than confrontational. This helped build trust with the families and foster a shared commitment to the students’ education.
