Education has a remarkable power to transform lives. Its influence extends to teachers, students, and entire communities, leaving lasting impressions that inspire progress. As eVidyaloka continues to expand its digital classroom model across rural India, bringing quality education to those who need it most, the encouragement and support from local communities have played a vital role in driving our mission forward.
During one of our meetings, the Headmaster of GHPS Marewad expressed his gratitude for the mentoring offered by volunteer teachers toward NMMS (National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship) exam preparations. He proudly shared that because of this, one of his students had qualified for the exam and emphasized his desire for this mentoring to continue at his school even in coming years.
Similarly, the Headmaster of GHPS Bogur shared how he has noticed improvement in students’ learning, crediting the online classes facilitated by eVidyaloka. Having observed several sessions himself, he has witnessed firsthand the impact of volunteer-led classes. He also noted that the volunteer teachers knew every student by name, which is a testament to their dedication and personal attention, even in a virtual setting.
A recent parent–teacher meeting at the GMHPS H.B.Halli center in Karnataka provided volunteer teachers with a valuable opportunity to engage with parents, discuss student performance, and identify areas for growth. Parents were briefed on how the online sessions operate, ensuring they understood the learning process. Many parents requested the introduction of spoken English sessions to help their children build confidence and strengthen their communication skills. The scholarship program also drew significant interest. Recognizing that academic success depends on support beyond the classroom, parents received practical guidance and suggestions from the volunteer teacher on how they can better guide their child’s learning at home.
Learning doesn’t end within the four walls of a classroom. It thrives when the environment beyond it is just as encouraging. Building an ecosystem that nurtures curiosity, fosters a love for learning, and empowers every child to dream big is essential. As rural government schools continue to embrace digital learning, each step forward becomes a catalyst for breaking barriers, expanding opportunities, and inspiring lasting change.
