At UMS Lalilewar Ganda, the journey to introduce digital classrooms was met with an unexpected yet profound challenge: there was no room.

For a few hours it did seem like the dream of bringing quality education to the children of this rural school might remain unfulfilled.

But the Headmaster did something unexpected, much to the shock and surprise of the staff, students and the parents.

He gave up his room so that the digital classroom could be set up.

This room was being used as the staff room. It was also the room where the rations for the mid-day meals were stored. The transformation of this space was nothing short of remarkable.

Without taking the easy path of saying that there was no room for the digital classroom, this Head Master displayed grit and showcased his commitment to give the best for his children.

Though the room lacks traditional classroom amenities such as desks and benches, the atmosphere inside is one of inspiration where students connect with passionate volunteer teachers.

The lack of infrastructure did not dampen the spirits of the students. Sitting on the floor, they eagerly participated in their lessons, excited by the opportunity to engage with their teachers online. Their resilience was matched only by the Headmaster’s commitment, turning a modest room into a testament to the boundless potential of education.
