Professional Teachers Before. Volunteer Teachers Now.

Teaching is more than just a profession; it’s a passion that drives many to shape young minds and make a lasting impact. For Dipali Mone and Renu Prasad, seasoned teachers with years of experience, their journey as volunteer teachers with eVidyaloka has added a new, fulfilling chapter to their lives. Both teachers now dedicate their time to teaching rural students in government schools, making a difference through eVidyaloka’s online digital classes.

Dipali Mone: Teaching Hungry Minds in Rural India

Dipali Mone reflects on her journey with eVidyaloka as an eye-opener. After years of teaching in private schools where students often had all the educational resources in abundance, she finds a new sense of purpose in educating children who are eager to learn.

"My journey with eVidyaloka has been incredibly rewarding. I sometimes wonder how I spent years teaching students who took education lightly. But today, I am teaching knowledge-hungry students in rural India. It was an awakening," Dipali shares.

She describes rural India as the heart and backbone of the country, where children with dreams and questions come to school seeking knowledge. The gratitude and eagerness of these students make her feel like she is making a real impact.

"The sense of satisfaction I feel at the end of the day is indescribable. I sleep peacefully knowing I’ve given back to society. The most memorable moment for me was when the students acknowledged our efforts on Teachers' Day. Their warm gestures and appreciation were so touching."

Dipali believes that teaching through stories and adding values to students' lives unknowingly is powerful. "They don’t even realise how much they’re gaining," she says. For her, eVidyaloka has been instrumental in not just educating rural India but in painting a bright future for the country.

Renu Prasad: A New Direction for a Retired Teacher

After 35 years of teaching and shaping countless lives, Renu Prasad, a retired teacher, found new meaning in her profession through eVidyaloka. She had always wanted to contribute to the education of children with lesser access but didn’t know how. When she came across eVidyaloka’s platform, she knew this was her chance to fulfil that dream.

"I feel my teaching experience has found a new direction. Teaching children in rural areas through eVidyaloka has made my career feel even more meaningful," Renu says.

Despite being new to digital teaching, Renu found eVidyaloka’s systems to be well-organised, making it easy for volunteers to teach. Webinars and training sessions helped her improve her teaching skills, and the students' involvement has been steadily growing. She is particularly impressed by the curiosity and enthusiasm of the girls in her class, who complete their work quickly and are always eager to learn more.

"I realised that with the right environment and guidance, these children can achieve great things. I feel proud to be part of an organisation that is making such a big difference in rural education," Renu says.

Both Dipali and Renu are grateful for the support from the coordinators and class assistants, who are always available to help. They feel proud they can uplift the education of rural children.
