In the rural outskirts of India, tribal children do not have access to quality education. 54% of Grade 5 children can’t read text of Grade 2 and 74% of Grade 5 can't do division. Children are bright and willing to learn but the infrastructure and lack of teachers does not provide a thriving environment for children to learn.
We, at eVidyaloka, are committed to spread the light of knowledge and ignite the minds of children from rural India, thus brightening the future of the entire community.
Nurture A Dream is an initiative by eVidyaloka to bring quality education at the doorsteps of children in remote villages of India. The objective is to inculcate a passion for learning in the young rural India and provide them the means and exposure to walk head-to-head with the urban India.
We leverage technology to connect Volunteer Teachers with children in remote villages.
We organize the coursework, class schedules, student attendance system and all such operational activities on the eVidyaloka portal, once the Volunteer Teachers are on boarded, they deliver live video-lectures to the students in rural villages. The power of the video-conferencing ensures that the remote lectures are carried out in just the same way as a face-to-face educational session.
Our local village partners setup the classroom each day and assist the remote teachers in course delivery. The books and course materials are made available to the students free-of-cost.
Your money starts its travel right from identifying a village, through a local NGO Partner. As the partner finalizes the school, a donor helps setup the Digital Classroom.
As the classroom gets setup, the contribution then goes towards securing a Broadband connection and takes care of the monthly internet expenses. It also goes into getting a local Class Assistant who spends 3-4 hours in maintaining and running the Digital Classroom in the rural village. It then continues its journey by reaching out to a Volunteer Teacher through various sources, post which they are screened and on boarded into the System. Subsequently, this enables the Class Delivery to be planned that takes place throughout the year. The contribution then goes into getting the technology platform enhanced and maintained, and of course, all the communication that takes place along the way. Finally, a bit of it goes in to the office space where the people sit and make things happen.
This really helps in a smooth functioning of the invisible engine of eVidyaloka - connect passionate teachers and the village children through a digital classroom and enable the online classes. Neither the children pay any fee nor do they get anything tangible from this contribution.
